Peanut oil

It is a mild vegetable oil extracted from peanuts. There are refined, unrefined, cold-pressed and roasted varieties of this oil. The latter has strong peanut flavor and aroma, similar to roasted sesame oil. It is often used in Chinese, South Asian and Southeast Asian dishes. It is not only used in general cooking, but also used in baking oil to increase flavor. It has been widely used in food and cooking. Peanuts are fried and eaten to make peanut butter and edible oil. Peanut oil is a refined vegetable oil, which is obtained by pressing peanut kernel with shell. Peanut oil is a clear, light-colored oil with delicate taste and fragrance. Compared with many other edible oils, peanut oil has a higher smoke point, so it is often used in fried food.

Peanut oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. As a free radical trapping agent, vitamin E protects cells from free radical attack by neutralizing free radicals. Peanut oil has moisturizing and anti-inflammatory effects on skin. Although peanut allergy is one of the five most common allergies in children and adults, recent studies on peanut oil support the conclusion that this oil and its derivatives can be safely used in cosmetic formulations.

Its major component fatty acids are oleic acid (46.8% as outline), linoleic acid (33.4% as linoleic), and palmitic acid (10.0% as palmitic).
The oil also contains some citric acid, arachidic acid, arachidonic acid, behenic acid, lignoceric acid and other fatty acids. Antioxidants such as Vitamin E are sometimes added, to improve the shelf life of the oil.
